Verstappen disappointed: "Couldn't really attack the corners because of it"

"No, we have to look at ourselves," Verstappen tells interviewer David Coulthard when asked if he expected Hamilton to come back so strong after a disappointing first free practice session for Mercedes.

The Dutchman complained several times over the on-board radio during qualifying. "I think the car itself was actually handling quite well but just a lot of understeer. I couldn't really attack any corners just waiting for the front to grip up," he added.

Hamilton's fastest time in qualifying does not mean pole position for Sunday's Grand Prix. The result of the sprint race only does. "A weird feeling you go flat out and it doesn't really mean anything. We have a strong race car we just need to fix issues we had in qualifying but I am confident we can have a strong race," he added.
