Charles Leclerc went off hard in qualifying and that did have some consequences. First of all, of course, he has to make do with a seventh place on the grid, but his car also suffered considerable damage. And not just the SF23, but the impact of the crash has also had some consequences physically.
Ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, Sky Sports briefly sought out Leclerc to ask how he was doing. "It’s not like my form is that good," laughed the 25-year-old driver. "My neck is completely blocked, but I will do anything to do a good race.”
Leclerc will start from the fourth row of the grid on Sunday night. The Monegasque will do so with a new gearbox, a new floor and a new rear suspension. It did not earn him a grid penalty.
