If Guenther Steiner is to be believed, Haas F1's chances of reaching Q2 in 2021 will be no more than a battle with Williams for ninth place. However, following the Bahrain weekend, Mick Schumacher does see opportunities to reach Q2 a couple of times this year.
"I'm positive in that sense, yes. We will be working on ourselves. I will be working on myself a lot. I see the motivation in the team, and I see no reason why we shouldn't be optimistic that throughout the season, we can even be - hopefully at some point - able to go into Q2s," Schumacher explained in a conversation with Autosport.com.

Few developments

Haas F1 did not use the two available tokens for 2021 last winter. The American team chose to invest all its resources in the car for 2022, when the new regulations will be introduced in Formula 1. The consequence is that the current season is in some ways a gap year.
Still, Schumacher sees enough starting points to stay positive about his chances in the coming months. During the Bahrain Grand Prix the young German finished sixteenth on his debut.
