Helmut Marko does not blame Sergio Perez for missing out on a podium. He points to the Red Bull Racing pit crew who took 4.8 seconds to change four tyres. Valtteri Bottas was able to go for the overcut and the Mercedes driver did not relinquish third place.
"Missing out on third place is the team's fault. It was because the first pit stop went wrong. Of course, it's annoying to lose by half a second. But the overtaking race was gigantic," a satisfied Marko echoed in conversation with ServusTV. The Mexican's performance meets with the approval of Red Bull Ring's advisor. "We need this to cover the number one driver well with the strategy upfront."

Perez improves on Saturday

DAZN España is also praising the driver who came over from Racing Point last winter. "He's getting better and better, even in qualifying. I'm very happy," said the 78-year-old from Graz.
Perez currently occupies third place in the world championship. His lead over number four Lando Norris is ten points, while the gap to Lewis Hamilton is exactly 42 points with fifteen Grands Prix to go.
