According to WeatherChannel.com, the weekend will be defined by cool desert nights, mostly dry skies, and only a small chance of rain affecting the early part of the schedule.
The weekend begins on Thursday with FP1 from 18:30 to 19:30 and FP2 from 22:00 to 23:00. Night-time conditions are expected to sit at 46°F, with mostly cloudy skies and a few showers late, giving the evening a 31% chance of rain.
Winds remain light from the north at 6 mph, and humidity is forecast at 67%. Although it is unclear whether the showers will arrive during running or after, the risk of a lightly damp track cannot be ruled out as Thursday progresses.
Friday features the final practice session at 18:30 and qualifying at 22:00. While the day begins with a chance of a showers in the morning, this clears well before the evening programme.
By nightfall, the forecast shows a few clouds, a temperature again around 46°F, and a sharply reduced 11% chance of rain, with north-westerly winds at 7 mph and humidity at 61%. All on-track running is therefore expected to take place in dry but cold conditions.
Saturday’s Grand Prix begins at 22:00, with the most stable weather of the entire weekend. The night forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, a low of 45°F, and just a 1% chance of rain, with light north-westerly winds near 6 mph and humidity at 57%.
