Max Verstappen recorded his sixth win of the season in Canada. At the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the Dutchman led the whole race and had little to fear from the other F1 drivers. Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton were the other two drivers who scored a podium finish.

Behind them, Ferrari with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz managed to seize fourth and fifth place. Sergio Perez in his RB19 did not really come close to the two SF23s and so he crossed the line in a colourless sixth position at flag fall.

Alexander Albon finished in seventh in Montreal. On old hard tyres, the Williams driver kept a whole DRS train behind him. The other points were for Esteban Ocon (Alpine), Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) and Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo).
