The only Italian driver on the Grid, Antonio Giovinazzi, is not worried about his future in F1. He has only driven one season in the sport. If he keeps trying his best and gets the time, he's sure he'll get a chance at Scuderia Ferrari.
Giovinazzi is already a Ferrari driver, in the sense that he is a member of the junior program. The Italian hence got his seat at Alfa Romeo Racing. In his first season he didn't make much of an impression, but he didn't disappoint much either. Giovinazzi had to fill the gap at the team that Charles Leclerc left behind.
In conversation with SkySports the Alfa driver estimates his future in F1: "I've only been in F1 one season. I know Leclerc only drove for one season and went to Ferrari the following year, but we also had trouble with the car in the second part of last season. Of course that's why why I haven't proven myself yet".

Giovinazzi sure of opportunity at Ferrari

Giovinazzi scored fourteen points in his debut season and beat his teammate several times. Besides world champion Kimi Raikkonen he had a great learning year. Every now and then he managed to beat his colleague during qualification.

The driver sees no reason why he doesn't have a chance to win a seat at Ferrari: "As long as I belong to Ferrari and Mattias [Binotto, ed.] keeps looking out for me and follows my career, I am satisfied. That is great of course. My current goal is to just do well at Alfa Romeo. If I do that, I will remain a Ferrari driver and I'm sure there will be an opportunity for me".
