Lando Norris has not received a penalty after being summoned to the stewards at the Miami Grand Prix. The British driver will keep his Sprint pole position.
For the first time this season, it was not a Mercedes driver who claimed pole position. Norris was the quickest on Friday, finishing ahead of Kimi Antonelli and Oscar Piastri in Sprint Qualifying. After the session, however, the defending world champion was investigated for an alleged failure to follow the Race Director’s instructions. This weekend, drivers are required to complete a lap between the safety car lines in under 1:48.0.
However, Norris’s pole position is not in danger. The Briton exceeded the allowed time after Nico Hulkenberg suddenly passed him in SQ2, forcing him to "create a necessary and appropriate gap to set up a push lap". The stewards’ decision was "no further action". See the full verdict below!
