Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff reflected on the teams hardest part of the 2019 F1 season, Niki Lauda's passing. Wolff tells many memories of his advisor while at the BRDC awards night and explains just how tough it was when he heard the news.
Lewis Hamilton was unable to collect his award because of an event in Valencia with Moto GP star Valentino Rossi. Wolff made up his absence and spoke about the shock he and the team experienced for the first time mid-way through the 2019 F1 season.
Mercedes went on to win their sixth consecutive constructors championship, something Wolff says Lauda would have really enjoyed.
