Liam Lawson is preparing for an unusual appearance away from the Formula 1 circuit, with Racing Bulls confirming that the New Zealander will perform live in Austin ahead of the United States Grand Prix.
The 24-year-old will headline the team's Garage Sessions event on Thursday, 22 October, just one day before taking to the track, alongside his brother and two childhood friends for a special musical performance.
Lawson, who developed an interest in music at a young age, will take to the stage at Esses Bazaar in Austin. His performance is scheduled between 19:00 and 21:15 local time, with several country music performers also featuring on the evening's programme.
Jonathan Capeci, Scoot Teasley, Jess Farren, Alison Nichols and Drake Milligan are among the artists confirmed for the event, which forms part of Racing Bulls' efforts to bring Formula 1 closer to the music industry.

The Austin appearance coincides with the launch of Lawson's collaboration with Taylor Guitars, which has produced a personalised instrument for the Racing Bulls driver. Named the LL30 GS Mini Special Edition, the guitar incorporates Lawson's signature pink-and-white colours, his number 30 and the cartoon emblem featured on his F1 helmet.
Speaking about the special event, Lawson reflected on the influence his father played in introducing him and his brother to music: "I feel very proud to be launching my partnership with Taylor Guitars at Garage Sessions. Playing the guitar has been a big part of my life since I was young, as my Dad played in a band throughout my childhood."

"He encouraged my brother and I to play since we were six years old, so it feels like a full circle moment to be launching a custom LL30 GS Mini SE while performing with my brother and two friends who I grew up playing with."
Beyond being a childhood hobby, playing music has remained an important part of Lawson's routine: "Music is a big part of my life, and I use it to clear my head during the season, so I'm really excited to perform at Garage Sessions where we can connect with fans outside of the track. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone there."

Racing Bulls announces full programme for Austin event
The Garage Sessions project is designed to connect the worlds of racing and live entertainment, providing opportunities for up-and-coming artists while allowing fans to interact with Racing Bulls beyond a traditional Grand Prix setting.
Following previous events in Australia and Las Vegas, the initiative will return in Austin as part of the build-up to the United States Grand Prix. Activities will get underway at 15:00 local time at Inn Cahoots, where visitors can enjoy musical performances, food, tattoo artists and a selection of western-inspired experiences.
A Racing Bulls show car will also be on display, giving supporters the chance to get a closer look at one of the team's Formula 1 machines. The programme will continue into the evening with Lawson's live appearance at Esses Bazaar, for which tickets are already on sale.
