The 2021 Formula 1 season is about to start with the winter test in Bahrain. Prior to such a test, the question is always what teams and drivers are testing here exactly. Mercedes explains in a new video.

Since 2009 the Formula 1 season is started with a joint winter test. Usually in Barcelona, but this season in Bahrain, all teams come together for a winter test before the F1 season starts. Here the teams can test their newest car, and see if all the data from the computer matches with the data from the track.

Mercedes hasn't always shown everything at the winter test in recent years, but in 2020 Mercedes left the competition stiff with the introduction of the new DAS system. Mercedes may no longer use that in 2021, so it remains to be seen what idea the Germans come up with this season.
