The mood at
Red Bull Racing on Saturday in Bahrain was one of jubilation. How could it be otherwise, when you beat Mercedes by four tenths in qualifying. But it helps when pacesetter and former Red Bull driver
David Coulthard turns 50.
Two cakes for Coulthard
The party mood was set before qualifying, despite the still strict coronation rules in the paddock.
Max Verstappen and
Sergio Perez presented 'DC' with a huge cake on behalf of the team. A nice gesture, but after qualifying Verstappen had a slightly smaller one for the Scot.
This chocolate cake with raspberries landed in Coulthard's face shortly after the interviews. Verstappen visibly enjoyed doing this, but also apologised immediately. "They told me to do this!"
