In the first and second free practice sessions, we already saw a red flag in Monaco and the final practice session also proved to be the case. In the closing stages, Lewis Hamilton put his Mercedes into the wall after being caught out with oversteer. The damage to his W14 does not seem to be too bad and so his qualifying is not in danger.
FP3 was not resumed. This was a setback for many drivers, as a virtual safety car had taken place shortly before. Kevin Magnussen came to a halt and had to be pushed away. So in the last 15 minutes, there was no real time left for qualifying runs.
