The steering wheel of Mercedes was one of the most discussed topics during the last winter tests. This is of course due to the DAS system that was discovered at the time. But what else does the Mercedes steering wheel do? Valtteri Bottas explains it to you on Peter Windsor's Youtube channel.

The times when the wheel of a Formula 1 car was no more than that - a steering wheel - are long gone. Since the beginning of this century, the steering wheel in an F1 car has been full of buttons and dials that can change the settings of the car and the power source while driving.

About six years ago the screen in the middle of the steering wheel was added. This gives the drivers more information without the engineer having to tell them. This leaves time to discuss strategy. Together with one of his engineers, Bottas explains which tasks the steering wheel has taken over.
