The Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort attracts hundreds of thousands of fans every year. Something that has considerable impact on the city itself. Just like during the 2023 edition, measures relating to drinking are in place. This rule was first introduced last season, and during the 2024 edition it will thus be enforced once again.
Next weekend the Formula 1 summer break comes to an end, and racing will resume in the 2024 for season. The Dutch Grand Prix will be finished in Zandvoort from Friday to Sunday. Like previous years, huge spectacle is expected this edition too. Just like last year, this year too, alcohol sale will be limited.

Drinking rules remain in Zandvoort

Some rules remain in place after the 2023 season. The hospitality industry in Zandvoort has to close at 01:00 a.m. from Friday until Sunday, and supermarkets and off-licence shops are not allowed to sell alcohol after 3:00 pm on those days either. Some 305,000 visitors are estimated to visit the track over the weekend.
Mayor of Zandvoort, David Moolenburgh, explained why these measures will be in place. "We saw earlier that there was relatively high usage of people buying drinks. We limited that last year. And that then gave us more peace at the end of the day and in the evening hours," said the mayor.
