Oscar Piastri took pole position for the Dutch Grand Prix ahead of Lando Norris in P2. McLaren CEO Zak Brown couldn’t be a happier man.
Speaking to Viaplay after the session, Brown stated the reason why Piastri was able to overturn Norris’ grip at the top of the order was that, “They just keep learning from each other.
"[They] keep pushing each other. Great effort. We’ve been really fast all weekend.”
Nevertheless, Brown doesn’t rest on his laurels, despite yet another 1-2 having been added to McLaren’s ample history and record books.
“But no points yet, so we’ve got to close the deal tomorrow. But very happy to have a papaya front row.”

Regarding if they will have to fend off any potential threats to their race win, Brown was rather confident in McLaren’s advantage.
“I like our race pace so we just need to have a good first lap and come around in first and second.”
What will happen then, if all goes according to plan? Brown reveals: “Let the boys (Piastri and\ Norris, ed.), decide who’s first and who’s second.”
Doing that, all that’s left to worry about is the weather.

“If we can do that and control the race, [then] we’ll see what the weather does but if it’s a straightforward race, we feel pretty good."
“It was supposed to be wet kind of all weekend. It rained overnight, it rained this morning. So we’ll see what tomorrow brings.”
Nevertheless, the McLaren CEO still highlights that "we need to execute," in order to clinch their 12th win of the season.
Regarding the team orders, Brown was adamant in his approach, which remains unchanged since the start of the season.
“Let’s just say that’s the team orders. Let’s go racing.”
