Last season, Romain Grosjean received an offer from Mercedes to test with a car from the racing stable. Although this has still not taken place, Toto Wolff assured in conversation with Formule1.nl that the moment will come.
Grosjean knew in 2020 that he was working on his final season. However, this came to an end sooner than expected, because during the Bahrain Grand Prix he experienced a severe crash. He drove hard into the guardrail, after which his car caught fire.
Only after half a minute Grosjean got out of the car. The driver suffered burns on his hands and feet, which marked the end of his Formula 1 career. Grosjean therefore hinted several times in the media that he would like to get back into a car of the motorsport class to end the period for himself.

Wolff looks forward to test with Grosjean

Mercedes decided to comply and contacted Grosjean. The driver accepted the offer, but has not yet stepped into the Mercedes car. "The test is definitely going to take place," stated Wolff, who assured that he is not backing down. "If I give my word, I give my word."
