Wolff on Red Bull: 'That appears to be a successful strategy'

Red Bull Racing have been building their lead over Mercedes in the World Championship. And despite Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff having previously said that the W12 will not be developed further, he believes the battle is far from over.
That Mercedes has already stopped updating the 2021 car was refuted by James Allison on Tuesday. But Wolff insists that from now on it is more important to get the 2022 car ready for the coming season with new regulations.

Mercedes is not giving up yet

"Having said that, this is far from over. We had a very difficult weekend in Austria with no weapons in our armoury to win this race fair and straight but we will be winning races this year and will be having pole positions and will be fighting as much as we can for every single result," Wolff said in a conversation with RACER.com.
Red Bull Racing was supreme during the first of two races at the Red Bull Ring and Wolff knows it will be difficult to get back into the fight. "It is a very, very tricky decision because we are having new regulations not only for next year but the years to come, a completely different car concept."

Red Bull continues to try new parts

Wolff admits that Red Bull's strategy is working better at the moment. The Austrian still saw Red Bull trucks arriving with new parts on Thursday and Friday. "Fair enough, it’s a strategy. And one that proves to be successful as it stands because they were simply in a league of their own from a car pace wise."
