Will the famous Brazilian GP rain return this year? – Weather report

Wet-weather races and the Autódromo José Carlos Pace — better known as Interlagos — have long been synonymous in Formula 1.

For example, last season, after qualifying was postponed to Sunday morning, Max Verstappen produced a stunning comeback to win in the rain from P17 on the grid. It is still regarded as one of the Dutchman’s finest performances in the competition.

Rain is once again expected on at least one day of the weekend at the Brazilian circuit.

It will be a Sprint weekend in Brazil, so after a single practice session, drivers will immediately need to be sharp for Sprint Qualifying.

According to Weather.com, it will be mostly cloudy on Friday, with temperatures reaching 28°C and a 24% chance of rain.

Rain is expected then to begin overnight in Sao Paulo, with thundershowers forecast for Saturday, when both the Sprint and regular Qualifying will take place.

Temperatures will hover around 25°C, with a 73% chance of rain. Showers are said to be more possible over the morning than in the afternoon. The Sprint will begin at 11 am local time.

Sunday will be the coldest day this weekend, as it is expected to be 20°C. It will be once again mostly cloudy with a 24% chance of rain.
