Yuki Tsunoda saw some "positives" as he managed to get through to Q3 at the Miami Grand Prix, but there is also hope that he could "have some points in the next few races". Max Verstappen snatched pole position around the Miami International Autodrome with another remarkable lap, claiming his third pole position this season already.
Tsunoda struggled more with the RB21, ultimately qualifying in P10 when the chequered flag fell, still unable to get anywhere near his teammate.

Could the new Red Bull update help Tsunoda?
Following the qualifying, Yuki Tsunoda expressed mixed feelings about the session to GPblog and others. “It's positive that I went through Q3, although I almost didn't do any proper laps during the sprint qualifying, so it was kind of clouded what kind of balance that we have exactly.
“We almost had to guess the setup because it rained during the sprint race. So, given that, I was happy to make it to Q3, but P10 is obviously not the place I wish for.”
Verstappen had the advantage of the new Red Bull's floor update in Miami, while Tsunoda must wait a bit longer for this update, which he is hoping will change his fortunes around to catapult him up the grid.
"I guess so, but I don't know how much it will help. He got pole, so I'm sure the car is not going backwards, but I'm not sure how much he gained. Hopefully, I can have that at some point in the next few races."
Tsunoda mentioned he mainly follows his own instincts to determine the setup, and while he said he also listened a bit more to the other side of the garage, he is still using his own learning to gauge his own setup for Sunday's Grand Prix.
“To be honest, I do my own thing, and give and take naturally. I choose the setup I think is good from our side.”
“Especially in this Grand Prix, [Verstappen] seems to be able to make a big leap forward, so I'm trying to get something good from his setup. To be honest, I'm not really focused on his setup. But this time, I was a bit more focused on him. But as I said, the floor is different, so it might cause a bit of different behaviour, so I try not to copy too much,” concluded the Japanese driver.
