Red Bull Racing team principal Laurent Mekies has responded to growing calls suggesting the Red Bull car should mirror the Racing Bulls amid the recent struggles the team has endured. The 48-year-old stressed it is impossible for such learning to take place, given that the construction of the cars is relatively different.
The Red Bull Racing outfit have continued to endure a dip in form since 2024 and the situation have become even more concerning through the 2025 campaign. However, while the Milton Keynes outfit continues to struggle, sister team Racing Bulls have continued to grind out relatively impressive performances.
Quizzed by Sky Sports F1 about the Red Bull team learning from its sister outfit during the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, he responded:
"The genetics of the car are too different for anyone to transfer from one car to another. It's what F1 is today. It's 10 independent teams, all coming with their own ideas of where to develop the car, what difficulties they have had. There's nothing you can take from one car to another."

While Mekies has stressed how impossible it would prove to learn from the Racing Bulls team for Red Bull, the tides have yet to turn for the Milton Keynes-based outfit through the three practice sessions of the Hungarian Grand Prix so far. While both McLarens continue to set the pace, Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda again found themselves languishing in the lower half of the standings ahead of the qualifying session.
