Max Verstappen in conversation with Sky Sports was asked the question if the move on George Russell that resulted in a collision was deliberate?
When asked if the move had been intentional, the Dutchman replied: "Does it matter?" When told that it did to people watching he added: "Yeah. Okay, that's great."
"I prefer to speak about the race than just one single moment," Verstappen added. When confronted that the moment in question got him a 10 second penalty that demoted him down to P10 and it therefore affected his hopes to the championship, he responded: "If there are any." After that Verstappen took the lead and summarised his race.
"I think we are way too slow anyway to fight for the title. I think that was clear again today," he said. "We tried to do a three stop and I think it was quite good. It was quite racy, but we also needed it because we had actually quite a bit of degradation on the tyres. So I think that was good."
"Unfortunately then of course, the safety car came out at the end and we basically ran out of tyres and the hard tyre was clearly not the right tyre. When you only have six laps to go, everyone could go flat out. And yeah, I was severely grip limited on. On the hard."

Verstappen's move on Russell came out of frustration?

Red Bull could have opted to leave Verstappen out and try to fight for the lead from the front, a decision the Dutchman considers would've been better.
"We have to look at it again. Of course, new tyres, or at least fresh tyres, they do make quite a bit of a difference as well. So I think no one really expected maybe that the hard tyre was so poor."
"That's [staying out] of course a bit easier to say right now," Verstappen continued.
Discussing whether frustration had been where the move had originated from, such move that takes the 'shine out of the driver he is', Verstappen asked: "Is it?"
When told that it was for fans and kids watching he replied: "Yeah? Okay, well, that's your opinion on that. We leave it there."
