Vettel: "Will be a great achievement for both Hamilton and Verstappen"

Sebastian Vettel will not play a significant role in the championship in 2021. Aston Martin is not nearly as fast as hoped. The German does hope that it will be a nice battle between rivals Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.

"We are not where we want to be," Vettel is quoted as saying by Motorsport-Total.com. "It's no secret that we expected to be stronger than we are this year." The four-time world champion says things were a little better in Portugal in qualifying, but it's still not enough.

"We know there is still a lot of work to do," Vettel continued. After finally getting to Q3 in Portugal after fifteen races, Vettel lost many positions in the race. As a result, he is still without points in the driver standings.

This year Hamilton and Verstappen are fighting for the world title. When Vettel is asked who will win the title in 2021, he responds as follows: "For us, it makes little difference. I hope for a good battle and it will be a great achievement for both Hamilton and Verstappen."
