Sebastian Vettel is currently in the lead when it comes to most overtaking manoeuvres in 2021. Starting this year, there is also a special award for this: the Crypto.com Overtake Award. Vettel says this title would mean nothing to him.
After Vettel won four world championships in a row between 2010 and 2013, the German has not won any more titles. That could change in 2021 with the special Overtake Award. Currently, he leads the way with 102 overtakes. Fernando Alonso however follows closely behind with a total of 100 overtakes.

Vettel does not want an Overtake Award

Vettel says in conversation with Bild.de that the title means nothing to him. However, his racing spirit is stimulated by the new award: "Yes. But whether you count them or not... ideally you don't overtake anyone all year long and win every race."
"Of course it is fun to overtake and it is not always easy. If it works out, it feels good. But you also hit yourself in the car sometimes," concludes the Aston Martin driver.
