As always, let’s take a look at the two main Formula 1 stories from today, Saturday 27 December. Max Verstappen received a special gift that took the internet by storm for this Christmas.
Posting on Instagram, The Dutchman's girlfriend revealed a photo of Max Verstappen holding up a T-shirt he received for the occasion.
The shirt featured an image inspired by Verstappen’s dominant victory at the Las Vegas Grand Prix earlier this season — a win that briefly reignited his title hopes after the post-race disqualification of both McLaren cars, even if the championship ultimately slipped away. The design shows Verstappen celebrating with the trophy in hand, sporting the Las Vegas podium glasses and raising his middle finger.

Luigi Mazzola, who previously worked closely with Michael Schumacher, has pointed the finger primarily at Ferrari when reflecting on
Lewis Hamilton’s difficult 2025 season with the Scuderia.
In comments to NewsF1, the Italian engineer stressed that while Hamilton cannot be completely absolved, the team failed to give him the consistent and competitive tools required to extract his best form, falling short of properly supporting his adaptation.
Mazzola also moved to defuse criticism aimed at race engineer Riccardo Adami. Despite the attention generated by several radio exchanges with Hamilton over the course of the year, he argued that the communication issues should not be laid solely at the engineer’s door, given the wider constraints within which he operates.
