In the week after winning his first Formula 1 world title, Max Verstappen's agenda is filled with interviews. Like the annual interview with Dutch commentator Olav Mol for Ziggo Sport, in which, amongst others, the subject of Silverstone is discussed.
The British Grand Prix was one of those races that saw title rivals Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton start the final race with exactly the same number of points. After winning the sprint race and thus starting from pole, the Dutchman ended up in the wall in very violent fashion after being nudged by his rival at Copse Corner.

Verstappen sticks to his guns

The images are burned on the retina of many. Not just the images of the crash, but also those of Hamilton and Mercedes, who seemed to forget that Verstappen was in hospital. The Briton was penalised for the incident but was nevertheless able to drive to a home victory unharmed.
That moment was taken lightly by some, according to Olav Mol. He also does not think Verstappen and Red Bull Racing would have done the same, something the world champion agrees with. "I don't think it's right to do that, " he says briefly but firmly when confronted with the footage again.
