Verstappen receives support from unexpected corner: 'They ask too much'

Verstappen was not present at the special preview of Brad Pitt's F1 movie. The event was organized in Monaco, specially for Formula 1 drivers and other prominent figures of the sport. The Dutchman chose to stay at home and spent the evening in his simulator. Lance Stroll was also absent.

He later explained why he skipped the screening. "I had already informed the FOM that I couldn't make it in time", Verstappen told GPblog among others. "It wasn't a mandatory event either. It was just my private time. I just wanted to spend more time at home. When you're away from home so often, it only seems normal to want to spend all the time you have at home."

While Hill may not always agree with Verstappen's attitude, in this case, he could. “I get that. The demand on F1 drivers' time is insane,” the 1996 world champion reacted in his Instagram stories to Verstappen's statements.
