However, Max Verstappen was noticeably absent from the premiere."I had already informed the FOM that I couldn't make it in time", Verstappen told GPblog among others. "I just wanted to spend more time at home. When you're away from home so often, it only seems normal to want to spend all the time you have at home". The Dutchman then mentioned that everything is currently going well with his daughter Lily.
Max Verstappen only became a father a few weeks ago, just before the Miami Grand Prix. Immediately after the birth of his daughter, he flew out to the race in the Sunshine State, where he finished in fourth place.
