Max Verstappen has addressed his decision to skip the F1 movie premiere on Wednesday. The Dutch driver was one of the most notable absentees at the event, while many of his fellow drivers attended the special screening to watch the film for the first time.
It was a notable occasion, with all Formula 1 drivers invited to a special screening of the new F1 film starring Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, and Javier Bardem. One of the film’s producers, Lewis Hamilton, was naturally in attendance. However, Max Verstappen was noticeably absent from the premiere.
"I had already informed the FOM that I couldn't make it in time", Verstappen told GPblog among others. "I just wanted to spend more time at home. When you're away from home so often, it only seems normal to want to spend all the time you have at home". The Dutchman then mentioned that everything is currently going well with his daughter Lily.
Max Verstappen only became a father a few weeks ago, just before the Miami Grand Prix. Immediately after the birth of his daughter, he flew out to the race in the Sunshine State, where he finished in fourth place.
