Verstappen receives congratulations from an old friend: 'Fantastic job'

Max Verstappen received many congratulations from the people around him after his victory in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and thus securing the world title. Franz Tost was one of those people. In conversation with Speekweek.com, he expressed his opinion about the Dutchman.

Tost was Verstappen's first-team boss years ago at Toro Rosso. The Dutch driver made his first steps in Formula 1 with that team, after which he earned a spot at Red Bull Racing. The current team boss of AlphaTauri was very proud of Verstappen's performance after the race. According to Tost it was more than justified for the Red Bull Racing driver to grab the world title this season.

"They have done a great job all year and Max really deserves this title," Tost revealed in the interview, after which he listed Verstappen's qualities. "He was the fastest pilot this year and the team did a fantastic job."

AlphaTauri failed to secure points in Abu Dhabi. While Pierre Gasly didn't get further than eleventh place, Yuki Tsunoda even had to settle for thirteenth. This earned AlphaTauri sixth place in the world championship.
