Max Verstappen's race in Hungary did not turn out as he and Red Bull Racing had hoped. At the start of the Grand Prix, he did make several overtakes. One of these has earned him a nomination for the 'Overtake of the Month'.
With a ninth position, Verstappen and his team will look back on a disappointing weekend. The Dutch driver started from P8, and for a moment, it seemed as if he might be able to come a little further up. In the end, he ended up in traffic several times, which even caused him to drop back one position from his starting place.

Verstappen and others nominated for 'Overtake of the Month'

In the opening phase, Verstappen overtook Liam Lawson and Lance Stroll. For action on the latter, the Red Bull Racing driver can win a prize. The Dutch driver is nominated for the 'Overtake of the Month-award', for the best overtake of the month.
Besides Verstappen, there are five more overtakes that can win the award. Stroll himself is also nominated. The Canadian overtook Nico Hulkenberg through Maggots and Becketts during the British Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton has even been nominated twice. The seven-time world champion can win the July award for his action on Esteban Ocon and George Russell, whom he took over in one corner, also during the British Grand Prix. In addition, he could also win with his overtake on Alexander Albon during the sprint race in Belgium.
Oscar Piastri also has a chance. During the Belgian Grand Prix, he managed to come through the spray at Eau Rouge / Raidillon, to subsequently overtake teammate Lando Norris on the Camel Straight.
Piastri has already won the award twice this season. He did this by overtaking Hamilton in Australia and by overtaking Hamilton in Saudi Arabia. Verstappen won the prize by overtaking Piastri in turn 1 in Imola. Hamilton also has one win to his name. He received his award by overtaking Liam Lawson during the Austrian Grand Prix.
