Verstappen leads very undesirable league table this season

It's a ranking no driver wants to be in; the list of drivers who have suffered the most damage in a season. On Reddit, the World Destructor's Championship is kept with the drivers who have cost their team the most this season.

Max Verstappen topped the list after the first half of the season, after his crashes in Azerbaijan and Britian caused a fair amount of damage. It has to be said that these incidents were not the Dutchman's fault, but they still cost Red Bull Racing dearly.

The biggest cost was caused at Silverstone, where according to Reddit-user Basspro24chevy, the damage amounted to over 2.2 million dollars. In Baku, it was around $700,000. Verstappen also sustained damage in Spain, France and Hungary, totalling around $3.4 million in damage, keeping him just ahead of Mick Schumacher and Valtteri Bottas. They both have sustained just over $3 million in damages.

Alpine can be happy with Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard has suffered the lowest amount of damage of all drivers. Alonso has only cost his team 170,000 dollar this season. Esteban Ocon has also suffered little damage (370,000 dollars), meaning Alpine are at the bottom of the ranking. This wil please the team.

It will not surprise anyone that the races at Imola and the Hungaroring caused the biggest costs. At Imola the total damage for the teams was almost $6 million, and at the Hungaroring it was $4.8 million. In total, the drivers have suffered almost 24 million dollar in damages this season.
