Max Verstappen has struggled for form this season, but Red Bull team principal
Christian Horner thinks that his teammate
Daniel Ricciardo could be a good teacher for the young Dutchman.
Verstappen has always been aggressive, but he's taken it too far this season too often, crashing almost in every race weekend. Ricciardo isn't exactly careful in his driving either, but the Aussie knows where the limit is, which is why he has more than double the points than his Dutch teammate (72 to 35).
"The only person who can address it and deal with it is Max,” Horner said on the Formula One website when asked about Verstappen getting out of his current slump.
“He has a very good teacher in the car next door to him.
“Max has an abundance of talent and had some harsh lessons this year and I think a modified approach will benefit him.
"[The Monaco] weekend was very painful for him - he's very aware, we talk weekly.
"Of course what frustrates him is that he’s working harder than ever, feels fitter than ever and it feels like he’s just trying a bit too hard at the moment.
"When you get into a spiral and try harder I think you just need to hit the reset button.”
