Max Verstappen has only competed for Red Bull Racing and their sister team, Toro Rosso, in Formula 1. It is rumoured that the Dutchman might end up making a switch, with a crucial decision awaiting him this summer. However, there is a clear demand he would not give up on.
The Dutchman has been with Red Bull Racing since the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix in Formula 1, after graduating from Toro Rosso. When he is asked by a possible switch, Dutchman remained calm and factual about the consequences of such a move. "It's all hard to predict. Next year everything will be new in the sport," he began to De Telegraaf.
"Everyone may claim they know who has the best credentials, but no one knows for sure. The only team that currently has the best setup is McLaren."

Complete freedom at Red Bull

When Verstappen is asked about the problems this Formula 1 season, mainly with the poorly performing car, he responds: "Unfortunately, it's not that simple. If it were in this sport, then anyone could do it and everyone would fight for victories. The same is true in the GT3-world. Ten of the same cars may participate, but there is always one team that has a better setup."
Therefore, Verstappen was then asked whether he would be able to drive other race cars if he signs for a new F1 team for the 2025 season, even if those would be cars from a different brand.
Verstappen explained it's a must. "If I ever go to race elsewhere, then that remains the same. Regarding those things, I will not cut back. Otherwise, they can figure it out themselves," he laughed.
"Then I won't even engage in the conversation," the four-time world champion concluded.
