Verstappen completely done with 'nonsense' about Red Bull future and Toto Wolff

According to Verstappen, the speculations about his possible departure were nonsense.

“People are waffling so much throughout the whole season, while the only one that actually can or should speak is not speaking. That's me,” he tells the cameras of Sky Sports.

He emphasizes that this was a deliberate choice: “Because it makes no sense to start throwing things around. And actually that should be the same for everyone.”

Verstappen is annoyed at the way some people involve themselves in the story. “Some people just like to stare at the plot, some people just like to create drama. But for me it's always been quite clear.”

According to him, the fact that he is staying at Red Bull also shows in the fact that he is already making plans with the team for next year.

Finally, Verstappen responds to the suggestion that his contact with Toto Wolff might say something about a move to Mercedes. There was a lot to do about the fact that both of them were on their yachts near Sardinia. “If my boat is next to Toto's, then the boat is next to Toto's. You can have a personal relationship with someone, even if you don't have a working relationship with someone,” concludes the four-time world champion.

He also indicated that it was already clear internally that it was his intention to stay. Verstappen found all the stories written on the matter quite amusing, he indicated, but he now sees it as time to stop the rumors.

For those who have closely followed the situation, the announcement did not come as a big surprise. There are plenty of reasons why it is a sensible decision for Verstappen to remain loyal to Red Bull and not to switch before 2026, when new regulations come into effect.
