Verstappen could equal special record in Australia: 'CRAZY!'

Max Verstappen could do something special in Australia. He can match his own record of most wins in a row. The Dutchman was asked a question prior to the race weekend about the record he can match.

For a long time, the record for most wins in a row was held by Sebastian Vettel. In 2013, he won all the races after the summer break, making it nine wins in a row. Nico Rosberg came close to breaking the record. At the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016 combined. The German managed to pick up seven wins in a row, falling two short.

Last year, the record was then broken after all. Verstappen managed to win everything between the Miami Grand Prix and the Italian Grand Prix. The race after the Grand Prix at the Monza circuit, in Singapore, the Dutchman finished fifth, ending his run at 10 wins. After that, however, the three-time world champion won everything. He is already on nine wins in a row after his victory in Saudi Arabia, so he can match his record this weekend.

"Crazy!" said Verstappen. "But for me I don't really think about these kind of things too much. Every single weekend I approach it as just one single achievement. Of course it's great that we have the opportunity to try and win 10 in a row again, but for me what is more important is that we always score points and win the championship. That's what you go for every year."
