After capturing the world title, Max Verstappen realized that a burden had been lifted from his shoulders. Everything that was still to come would be an extra on top of that already achieved, ultimate goal. Some people thought that this would give Verstappen a certain calmness, but there seems to be no sign of that yet.

Frustrations

The Red Bull is not yet the car that suits Verstappen's driving style. Where Verstappen needs a strong front end, the car is neutral. This means that Verstappen has not yet been able to get the most out of the car. In addition, the Dutchman has already had to record two retirements, causing him to lose expensive points in the battle for the championship. The problems with the DRS - like in Barcelona - also caused frustrations.

Even though Verstappen is the reigning champion, he continues to clearly report annoyance about things that are not going his way. There is no resignation whatsoever. Logical, says Helmut Marko in conversation with Formel1.de. The Red Bull Racing advisor cites the race in Spain, where Verstappen could not overtake because of the faltering DRS.

Inspired person

"He wants to overtake and then he can't," says Marko understandingly. "He notices that the race is slipping away. Then you can be the world champion. He is also a driver with emotions. Someone of 24 years of age. Over the radio he then shows his emotions. That's understandable for a young, emotional person."
