Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur reiterated that he has an excellent relationship with his superiors, Benedetto Vigna and John Elkann, has no complaints about the organisation and is in regular contact with them.
The interview given by Christian Horner last week sparked a major media storm surrounding the Frenchman’s position, to the point that Ferrari itself had to step in with an official statement to put an end to the speculation and reaffirm its full confidence in the project launched three years ago.
Asked in Sepang whether he feels he has sufficient autonomy within Ferrari’s organisational structure, Vasseur made it clear that he has no issues with the way the team is managed. The Ferrari team principal highlighted his close working relationship with Benedetto Vigna and John Elkann, with whom he remains in daily contact.
The Frenchman acknowledged that there is always a desire to achieve more and strengthen the team further, including by recruiting additional personnel. However, he insisted that this ambition should not be interpreted as criticism of Ferrari’s current organisation, but rather as a natural part of the competitive mindset required in Formula 1.

"Honestly, the relationship that I have with my bosses, Benedetto and John, is a very good one. We are in daily contact, and I can’t complain at all about the organisation. But for sure, you always want to get more, you always want to do more, you always want to recruit more too.
"I think it’s true for me and it’s true for everybody on the grid, that you always want to do more because it’s the DNA of what we are doing. But honestly, it has nothing to do with the organisation."

Vasseur warns Hamilton over structural change call: 'It's a mistake to point fingers'

Vasseur has also responded to Lewis Hamilton’s comments regarding the possibility of changes to the Scuderia’s organisational structure, insisting that singling out individuals would be counterproductive.

Hamilton raised the subject on Thursday, suggesting that Ferrari’s current structure could be reviewed going forward. The seven-time world champion pointed out that there are people above Vasseur within the organisation and stressed that the situation should not be reduced to one individual. He also revealed that there are changes he would personally make, although he chose not to elaborate, while highlighting the differences between Vasseur’s position at Ferrari and Toto Wolff’s role at Mercedes.
Responding to Hamilton’s remarks, Vasseur urged Ferrari to avoid pointing the finger at any particular person or element of the organisation. Instead, the Frenchman stressed the importance of maintaining unity within the team, arguing that Ferrari must share both its successes and its difficult moments.
He acknowledged that the Scuderia’s recent form has fallen short of its ambitions, with the team determined to make further progress and ultimately fight for the championship. However, he also pointed to Ferrari’s positive start to the season and insisted that the current struggles should be addressed collectively, with the focus now on development and returning to the pace.
