Tsunoda ambitious: 'The goal is to fight with Verstappen and Red Bull'

Yuki Tsunoda has a clear goal in mind with the Visa Cash App RB F1 team: eventually, the team wants to compete with sister team Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen. However, Tsunoda, who is entering his fourth Formula 1 season, stresses that this is his team's long-term vision.

Launching VCARB 01 for the 2024 F1 season, Tsunoda says his team's goal is not only to finish in the points, but also to compete with Red Bull at some point in the future. At the same time, the Italian racing stable is actually going to work more closely with Red Bull, which the team hopes will make it more competitive.

"I think it’s good to work closer to Red Bull Racing, which has been able to win a lot in the past. In recent years they have dominated," he is quoted by Motorsport.com. He also stressed that for them, as for all teams, there are rules on how closely they can work together.

Either way, Tsunoda believes the closer collaboration will be beneficial for his team due to the knowledge it can gain from Red Bull. "We hope that their experience and knowledge will give us a few more tenths to be able to fight with the best eight cars," Tsunoda said.
