Tost about Gasly-Albon switch: "Albon is not yet ready for Red Bull Racing"

Red Bull's Pierre Gasly has been far behind Max Verstappen during the 2019 Formula 1 season. He'll get a big test next time out in Monaco. In contrast, Alex Albon has been performing well for Toro Rosso as he pushes for a switch similar to Verstappen/Kvyat in 2016.
However, Franz Tost believes it is too early for Alex Albon to make the switch. The Toro Rosso boss didn't want to comment on Gasly's performance, but he knows Albon needs a few extra years in Formula 1 before fighting for titles.
“Red Bull Racing is of a different calibre. Red Bull fights for victories and championships. I think he first needs two or three seasons to make the Formula 1 his own. I also have some examples for that," Tost said in a conversation with Motorsport.com.
"For example, look at the qualification in Baku. There the sun came through the skyscrapers in the afternoon and that made the circumstances very different than during the last training session. There was a different grip. Due to his limited experience, he only came up against this in qualifying. That is the crux of the experience."
