Oliver Bearman will start the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix with an almost entirely renewed power unit, announced by the FIA shortly after the end of the first free practice in Imola.
For the Haas team, the race weekend did not have the best of starts with Bearman only coming P18, while teammate Esteban Ocon was the slowest out of the whole grid during the first free practice at the Italian circuit.
There will be hope at the American team that they can change their pace and turn those fortunes around, continuing their fine start to the 2025 season, sitting P6 in the constructors' championship with 20 points.

No penalty for Bearman after engine change

According to the FIA's official report of May 16, Bearman receives, among other things, a new internal combustion engine, turbocharger, MGU-H, MGU-K, and exhaust system. Bearman, utilising his second ICE, TC, MGU-H, and MGU-K, remains within the four allowable swaps per season according to Article 28.2 of the 2025 Formula One Sporting Regulations.
Additionally, he is on his third exhaust system, with a maximum of eight allowed to be used. The intervention suggests that Haas aims for maximum reliability and performance in Imola, possibly in preparation for a series of intensive races with the upcoming tripleheader.
