Haas may not be in great form but Guenther Steiner has been previewing the Singapore Grand Prix with a sense of optimism regarding the night race.
Haas' season has been plagued by reliability issues, a lack of pace and inter-team conflict as both of their drivers have come to blows on track in 2019. Having been one of the favourites for best of the rest they now languish down in second-bottom, only above Williams who have a single point.
Singapore is one of the three-night races this season and Haas boss Steiner previewed the upcoming race and is focused on getting the most out of the car at a "cool" circuit.
“The challenges of the track lie in that it’s low speed. It’s more like Monte Carlo – it’s a slower circuit. You have to take the lessons learned at places like that and try to get the best out of the car," Steiner said in the Haas preview.
“Night races, especially Singapore, are very cool. Being in the city and racing completely at night – it’s fantastic. I think it adds a lot to the show. The time difference, being at night, it allows a lot of people around the world to watch it.”
