Toto Wolff has admitted the Spygate between McLaren-Mercedes in 2007 won't be a reason for there to be problems in signing the new alliance in 2021. The Austrian feels that this issue was solved a long time ago and that there won't be any issues.
" I think it was a dark time for McLaren and Mercedes at the time. It cost us some money to remedy the actions of other individuals," Wolff said.
McLaren has decided to not renew their client contract with Renault and will remain with Mercedes engines.
"But we have turned the page. 12 years have passed and he has not played any role in the decision. In this sense, there are not many more sensations,"
"I think the situation has changed a bit. We have been very strict from the beginning when we said we were going to focus 100% on our factory equipment ."
