Sky commentator contradicts Russell: 'Verstappen didn't swear!'

Sky Sports commentator David Croft has refuted a comment made by George Russell live on air. The Brit claimed that Max Verstappen was 'standing around swearing' in the stewards' office after they were both brought in for a meeting to discuss their incident in Qatar last weekend. Croft calls those accusations "serious" and says Verstappen has the right to respond because, according to his information, it is not true.

According to Russell, Verstappen had a real tantrum during the meeting and even cursed and ranted at the stewards. "We went into the stewards, and for the first five minutes, I didn't say a word because they were only talking to Max, and he was already angry and swearing at the stewards," he claimed in a conversation with Viaplay.

The claim of the Mercedes driver isn't true, according to Croft. Earlier, Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner also suggested that Verstappen was not the only one who thought what happened in front of the FIA officials was extraordinary, as he defended his driver. Horner stated that Verstappen has never said, always saying it 'as it is'.

It's safe to say one thing, the pair are definitely not friends heading into the last Grand Prix of the season in Abu Dhabi.
