Singapore Airlines has extended their title sponsorship of the country's grand prix to the end of 2019. They confirmed their contract extension with F1 earlier this week and will sponsor the event for the next two years.
Singapore has been on the F1 calendar since the 2008 season in which the race result turned into F1's most recent scandals; Crashgate. It was the sports first ever night race taking place around Marina Bay and makes for one of the most spectacular-looking events of the year.
Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong said that the event is the biggest of the year in Singapore and that extending the sponsorship would enhance the reputation further.
"The night race is the highlight of Singapore's sporting calendar and we are thrilled to continue as its title sponsor.
"We look forward to showcasing this event to the world and enhancing both tourism and sports for the benefit of Singaporeans and visitors alike."
F1 CEO Chase Carey added: "The strength of Singapore as a destination is an example of the excitement F1 is creating around the globe and having prestigious partners such as SIA shows our ambitious vision is shared by the market-leading companies around the world."
The Singapore Grand Prix takes place on the 16th September marking the end of F1's European stint of the season.
