Mercedes non-executive chairman Niki Lauda is sure that Lewis Hamilton will sign a new deal with the world champions. Hamilton's current contract expires at the end of this season and while both parties say they are eager to continue together, nothing has been signed yet.
While a new contract was rumoured to have been signed before the season started, there has been no such deal yet but Lauda is sure it is just a matter of time before it happens.
“It's just about the details. Lewis will continue to drive for us,” Lauda told German publication Auto Motor und Sport.
“Depending on the mood, it is sometimes more or less expensive.
"It always depends on how the last race went. But the money is not a problem. We agree in principle."

Hamilton has struggled so far in 2018 and is yet to win a race this season. He is only five points behind Sebastian Vettel in the drivers' championship however he will need to turn his form around sooner rather than later to ignite his title defence.
