Lance Stroll is currently undergoing a complicated spell at Aston Martin. For instance, he's not been able to beat Fernando Alonso in qualifying in 27 race weekends, which for Ralf Schumacher is evidence enough alone of the drastic decision the British team has to make.
A painful stat that sheds light on the change that needs to take place at the British team if they are serious about their intentions to win titles from 2026 and onward.
"If he really wants to become world champion, he has to dismiss his son," said Schumacher in an interview with Bild.
"Lance's 27-0 defeat in qualifying against his teammate Fernando Alonso says it all," Schumacher added.

The Canadian however, is tied neck-and-neck with his double world champion teammate on points, with 26 a piece.
This does not matter for Schumacher, who believes Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll needs to make the tough call now, ahead of 2026.
"The father has to decide: feeling or success. If he is serious, he will have to completely rethink the driver pairing for 2026."
According to the former F1 driver turned pundit, Stroll Sr. is well aware of what he has to do.
"I think he knows that, but the decision is difficult for him," Schumacher concluded.
