Ralf Schumacher has explained he expected more from Lewis Hamilton during his very difficult run of form throughout the 2025 season. "This back and forth, this sense of being resigned. I expect more from someone of his stature."
- Ralf Schumacher Hamilton endured a very difficult time in 2025 as the initial focus on his move to
Ferrari soon dissipated.
For the first time in Hamilton's career since his debut in 2007, he failed to score a top-three finish in a Grand Prix. However, there was one brief upturn in form as the British driver won the Sprint in China.
Schumacher told
F1-Insider that he was disappointed by the way Hamilton handled his lacklustre year and by the 40-year-old's resigned nature.
The former F1 driver said: "His successes speak for themselves. But yes, he had a dominant car, but wasn't that much ahead of his teammates.

"Nevertheless, I would be more than satisfied with his record. What disappoints me is how he's handled his problems. This back and forth, this sense of being resigned. I expect more from someone of his stature."
Hamilton did appear quite downbeat in some of his interviews last year, as his qualifying suffered in particular.
He lagged behind teammate
Charles Leclerc for most of last season. The seven-time world champion also failed to get out of Q1 during the final three rounds.
Hamilton is sure there's still a lot to look forward to
Hamilton will be eager to turn his form around in 2026 and revitalise his
Ferrari career after finishing behind Leclerc in his debut year.
The Briton explained that there are still many firsts to look forward to this year.
