Mick Schumacher has explained the respect for father Michael Schumacher has only grown in his debut year. Schumacher says his debut year could have been very stressful and, as a result, understands that years in which you're fighting for the title are even more stressful.
Schumacher had a debut year in Formula 1 that he probably won't fondly remember. The young German drove the season for Haas F1 with fellow rookie Nikita Mazepin as his teammate. Early in the season, the American team announced that they would be focusing fully on the new cars that will be seen from 2022 onwards. Because of this Haas were a long way behind in 2021.

Respect for father Michael has grown

"Because I know what this year was like and how much stress it was, I can very well imagine what it must be like when you are fighting for the World Championship," Schumacher revealed in conversation with Speedweek.com. Schumacher Junior let it be known that the respect for his father has only increased, despite the fact that the respect was already very high.
Despite Haas' disappointing results in 2021, Schumacher looks back on his debut year in Formula One with satisfaction. He reveals that the transition from Formula 2 to Formula 1 went well and he thanks the team members at Haas for that.
