Logan Sargeant will make his debut in a Formula 1 race next season. The American driver has secured enough points for his super licence to start working for Williams in 2023, where he will succeed the departing Nicholas Latifi.
The British formation was keen to add Sargeant to the team, but confirmation hung by a thread for a long time. Indeed, prior to the race weekend in Abu Dhabi, the talented driver still had 30 points to his name, while he needed a total of 40 points to make the switch to Formula 1.

While he got to compete in the first free practice for Williams, he had to get the rest of the points in Formula 2. Sargeant needed a sixth final position in the world championship to make a move next season. This ended up being place four in the final standings.
It did not seem to be a difficult task for Sargeant and in the end it was not. As a result, he can start preparing in the coming months to enter the pre-season for Williams as Alexander Albon's teammate in the new calendar year.
