George Russell and Charles Leclerc have been summoned to the stewards at Circuit Zandvoort. The Mercedes and Ferrari drivers collided during the Dutch Grand Prix, an incident that would be reviewed only after the F1 race was over. Russell and Leclerc to the stewards
In the second half of the race, Leclerc was fiercely battling with Russell. The Ferrari driver positioned his car alongside the Brit's and forced an overtaking manoeuvre. In the process, the two hit each other, while Leclerc ended up off the track to complete the manoeuvre.
The race direction shortly notified that the incident would be investigated further after the race. Both Leclerc and Russell are suspected of causing a collision. Leclerc initially continued in fifth place, but was soon crashed out of the race by Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli.
Russell incurred damage from the incident, which slowed his pace, and he was told by Mercedes to let the faster Andrea Kimi Antonelli pass. The Brit reluctantly complied with the team order and lost his position to the rookie.
